What's the Best Set-Top Box?

What's the Best Set-Top Box?

Whether you've cut the cord or you still pay for cable, streaming TV over the internet isn't a funny thing only a few tech-savvy people do anymore. It's been a while since we looked into your favorite set-top boxes and streaming devices, so this week we want to hear about your favorites.

Of course, to be the best, a set-top box (or a streaming device—we're not limiting nominations here by form factor!) should give you the features you need. Maybe it supports streaming services you use, like Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon. Maybe it's tiny, or maybe it also supports streaming your local media as well as video from the internet. Maybe it's cheap, or portable. Whatever your preferred device is, we want to hear it.

Let's hear your vote in the discussions below! To cast your vote, follow these guidelines:

  1. Follow this format for your vote, including the bold print. If you don't, it won't be counted:
A PHOTO OR IMAGE OF THE BEST SET-TOP BOX

    Vote: [BEST SET-TOP BOX]

Why: Why is this set-top box the one you think is the best? Maybe it has all of the features you need—it streams everything you like to watch, great apps, HD streaming, local media, or maybe it's just cheap. Make your case! Try to keep it to a single paragraph, maybe two.

  2. Don't duplicate nominations! Instead, if someone's nominated your pick, star (recommend) it to give it a boost, and reply with your story instead.

  3. Please don't leave non-entry, direct comments on this post. They'll just get pushed down. Save your stories for others' submissions!

If you're not sure what we mean, just check out the nominations by our writers below. We'll give you a head start, and they should all be in the proper format, so you can just follow our lead.
