Terrain Home is a Gesture-Based Home Screen Replacement for Android

Android (4.2+): There are some great choices for home screen replacements on Android, but Terrain Home might just be what you stick with. It's fast, it's light, and it's driven by intuitive gestures that makes the best of your touchscreen's swiping ability.

There are four parts to Terrain Home. First, there's the home screen with app shortcuts, like any normal Android. You can set how many home screens you want and the number of icons to be displayed.

Second is the sidebar, accessible via a button on the home screen or by swiping in from the left edge. The sidebar holds a long list of cards, much like Google Now cards, including everything from weather and traffic updates to music players and RSS readers. The sidebar can be customized with which cards you want, their order, and their data. And yes, the cards are interactive.

Third is the universal search function, which you can again trigger with a home screen icon or by swiping in from the bottom edge. This searches your apps, contacts and the internet.

The fourth and final part of Terrain Home is the App Drawer, which is arranged alphabetically and can be accessed by swiping in from the right edge, or by tapping the icon on the home screen. You can also quickly search the list of apps here.

Terrain Home works smoothly even on low-end devices like the Moto E, looks gorgeous, and the sidebar of ready-access interactive cards is a delight to use.
