If you're an American Express cardholder, you might want to be more careful in checking your statements for fraudulent charges. CSO notes that Amex has had to issue three breach notifications this month, due to three separate hacks.
The number of affected users hasn't been disclosed, but the incidents involve White Lodging Services and Creathe Group. Those names might not be familiar to you, but they're the companies that manage hotels (including Courtyard, Marriott, Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, Westin, Residence Inn, Renaissance, Sheraton, Embassy Suites, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Hilton) and fashion and retail brands (Burberry, Calvin Klein, H&M, Hugo Boss, Louis Vuitton, Tommy Hilfiger, Harrods, Hennessy, News Day, Vimeo, The Economist, and Lifetime Network).
Also, 76,608 in California should expect a data breach notification letter, thanks to their data being publicized by Anonymous Ukraine.
If you stayed at one of those hotels last year or shopped with one of those brands with your American Express card, check your statements more carefully and be on the lookout for any notices from Amex. You might not be affected, but it's good to know what to do if your card is hacked anyway.
