Android: When you want to record something to Evernote, speed can be of the essence. Stringnote turns your phone's power button into a handy note-taking shortcut.
We're big fans of Evernote, and it's a handy app to have on your phone—you never know when you might need to create a record of something. If you want to capture photo or video, you need to do it quickly or the moment will pass. Stringnote speeds up the capture of photos, audio, and video, eliminating the need to fire up Evernote; all you need to do is double tap your phone's power button.
Grab a copy of the app from Google Play and sign in with your Evernote credentials. You need to grant Stringnote access to your Evernote account, but this merely gives permission for the app to create notes. Your existing notebooks will not be touched.
At the settings screen, choose whether a double tap of the power button should record 9 seconds of video, 15 seconds of dictation, take a photo, or snap a photo and also record dictation. As long as Stringnote is running, hit the power button twice and the app will record the type of note you indicated. They'll then be synced to your Evernote account, complete with date and location tagging.
The app's developers point out that some Samsung devices are not fully compatible with Stringnote. If you have problem with the power button shortcut, try triple pressing it instead or leave a slight pause between presses.
