The best time of the day to send emails may be around 2pm, according to data from email marketer Mailchimp. That's the time people are most likely to read and respond.
The data is based on newsletter subscribers' behavior, using the 200-300 million emails Mailchimp sends every day. As the chart above shows, people are most likely to open emails between 2pm and 5pm. Quartz reckons that's the time you find people sitting at their desk after lunch rather than in meetings or other tasks.
Mailchimp also notes that more emails are sent on Tuesday and Thursday, and email opening is highest on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. To further boost the chances of being read, have a 6-10 word subject line to your email. And you can track emails you send to note your progress.
