Mix Alcohol Last While Making Cocktails to Avoid Waste

At some point, you have probably messed up the recipe while making a cocktail and had to throw it all out. You can avoid this by learning basic cocktail ratios, but even then, mixologist Jim Meehan offers one simple advice: add your alcohol last.

The alcohol is usually the most expensive part of the cocktail you are making and throwing that out hurts more than any juice or sugar syrup you need to chuck. And since most cocktails are shaken or mixed before serving, the order of how you add the ingredients isn't important. By saving the alcohol for last, you can first taste your mix and make sure it's all right.

As a bonus, check out the video and learn Meehan's method to make the perfect pitcher of Bloody Mary.
