Services like Twitter, Dropbox, YouTube, or Wikipedia love to release official apps for their services. More often than not, third-party developers swoop in to make better apps to access those services than the official ones. We want to collect together the best of those apps.
Third-party apps are often some of our favorites and in some respects, blow the official app away. Twitter is a perfect example of when the official apps are rarely even worth mentioning when the third-party ones are so much better. So, let's figure out which apps are truly the best.
We'll start the list with some of our favorites, but we're more interested in yours. Here's how to share your favorite third-party app:
- List the app name and what it's an alternative to: Keep is simple like, "Tweetbot instead of Twitter"
- Enter one app per comment and try not to repeat: Let's keep it easy to read so people can sort through them quickly. Include one app per comment. If someone else has already mentioned your favorite app, click the start next to it to boost it up.
- Tell us why it's awesome: This is the important part—explain why you app choice is better than the official app and why it's worth picking up.
With that, let's get started!
