Freeze Smoothie Ingredients in Individual Serving Bags

Freeze Smoothie Ingredients in Individual Serving Bags

Smoothies are a great way to beat the summer heat, and weblog The Kitchn recommends freezing your smoothie ingredients in individual serving bags to save you some time and ensure everything keeps.

Grab some fresh fruit you like and cut into small chunks (unless it's berries or something similar). Then arrange the pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and place the baking sheet in the freezer for four hours. While your fruit is freezing, get some quart-sized freezer bags and label them with what type of smoothie you'll be making. You can also write additional ingredients that are needed for the smoothie, like milk or Greek yogurt, on the bag.

When the fruit is nice and frozen, just fill your bags and you've got an easy-to-blend smoothie ready to go. No ice required! If you're more of the frozen fruit type, you can just fill the bags with whatever fruit you've already got in your freezer.
