Create a Money Calendar to Keep Track of Your Financial Tasks

Create a Money Calendar to Keep Track of Your Financial Tasks

It's important to stay on top of your finances. And there are specific money moves you should make throughout the year. Finance site LearnVest suggests creating a calendar of your financial tasks.

Financial advisor Tyler Gray suggests you set reminders throughout the year to review your insurance policies, order your credit report or rebalance investments. LearnVest continues:

"...add your personal due dates and tasks, like 'Increase retirement contributions,' or 'Make final debt payment (celebrate!).'"

Using whatever calendar program you prefer, create a separate calendar strictly for your finances. This way, you keep your financial tasks separate from your day-to-day tasks, making it easier to organize. Google Calendar is ideal for this, as it allows you to create multiple, color-coded calendars.

In fact, use LearnVest's financial calendar (which we publish every month on Lifehacker) as a guideline. You can review the tips in these posts and add them to your calendar.
