When someone is walking, you want to capture them in their full stride, not when their legs are almost together. To get your timing right, street photographer Zack Arias recommends counting their steps while you are framing the picture.
His basic idea is that when you are framing any shot—especially in street photography—wait for a human element to enter. And when they do, start counting their steps. As you count, you know when they will be in full stride and can press the shutter at the right moment.
Arias shares some other great street photography tips in the video above, along with general tips to make better use of your camera.
