Weblog One Good Thing By Jillee has a neat DIY that tells you how to make your own ready-to-clean rags which can be reused, are better for you than store-bought options, and more economical.
You'll need:
- 3 rags
- 3 cups hot water
- 2 Tbls castile soap
- 1 cup vinegar
- 1 Tbls borax
- 20 drops essential oils (10 drops of Lavender and 10 drops of Melaleuca for their antibacterial, antiseptic and antifungal properties.)
- 1 glass jar
Put the rags in the jar, mix all the ingredients and pour them into the jar, seal it! When you need to clean, just open and grab one, and close the jar again. You probably want to keep two jars like this ready so that when one runs out, you can use the other and refill the first.
Do note that some commenters say that you shouldn't be mixing vinegar and liquid castile soap as that will negate each other's properties and curdle the liquid soap. So you might want to replace the castile soap with liquid hand soap or dish soap.
